“Enhancing Joyful Learning” is the
environment that we perpetuate for all of our keiki
“children” here at Keiki Care Center of Hawaii, Inc. (KCCOH).
Located in Pearl City, the heart of Oahu, we are
centrally located and near to freeway on and off ramps,
but still located in a quiet residential neighborhood.
Many from around the island choose KCCOH as their choice
for preschool.
Our preschool program for children ages 2 through 5
years old, has been created to perpetuate and foster the
philosophy and values that have been developed and
carried on throughout the many decades of years of
teaching by its highly trained, experienced and
dedicated teachers and staff. Many of our teachers have
degrees specifically in the field of early childhood
education, and a few even have attained Master’s
Degrees. You can be assured that your child will be in
wonderful care here at KCCOH.
KCCOH was opened due to the closure of St. Timothy’s
Children’s Center in Aiea back in 2008, since the hope
was to employ as many of the teachers and faculty to
keep the “ohana” together, as well as to continue to
provide a great preschool education for those families
that were displaced due to the closure. St. Timothy’s
was the only nationally accredited preschool on this
side of the island at that time, and KCCOH definitely
continues with the curriculum and philosophy that made
St. Timothy’s a successful program for 30 years. The
2017-2018 school year marks KCCOH’s 10th year
anniversary!
At KCCOH, we view each child as an individual…a bright
learner with potential for growth and development
needing an optimal, stimulating environment. Our
environment is safe, challenging, supportive, nurturing,
and respectful of the child and his/her family. We
believe that young children need a nurturing,
stimulating environment, which supports and challenges
their growth and learning. We care about each child and
show this through our interactions with the individual
child. Teacher-child ratios and small group sizes, which
are based on national accreditation guidelines versus
the higher State of Hawaii ratios, are designed to
enable teachers to spend quality time with individual
children to meet their needs.
KCCOH offers high-quality education and care Monday
through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for children
enrolled in the full-time program. For those children
enrolled in the partial day program, pick up time is by
2:00 p.m.
KCCOH operates similar to a year-round school calendar,
operating from mid-August through mid-July. The summer
break is for professional development trainings and
workshops for our staff, to ensure that our faculty is
always up-to-date in their field of early childhood
education, as well as First Aid, CPR and AED training.
We are now accepting enrollment reservations for
children ages two to five…willing to learn…while having
fun…in a nurturing, caring and safe environment!
KCCOH could possibly be the best school for your keiki!
